Hello, I'm Scott, a product manager and industrial designer with over 15 years of experience. I'm passionate about using design thinking to develop unique product solutions that answer consumer and business needs.
My love for hands-on, tangible creativity was kindled in my Grandfather's woodshop in Kentucky. Despite his blindness, he crafted toys for the local boys and girls club, a testament to his unyielding spirit and desire to contribute. It was in this workshop, under his guidance, that I designed my first product – a wooden motorcycle toy. This experience not only bonded me with my Grandfather but also laid the foundation for my approach to design: adaptable, thoughtful, and always mindful of manufacturing constraints. It's a lesson that continues to shape my work and philosophy to this day.
At the heart of my work lies a simple, yet profound philosophy: making fewer, nicer things. In a world increasingly concerned about sustainability and the impacts of consumerism, I strive to create products that are not just ephemeral commodities but lasting treasures.
Currently, I’m leading the Product team at PAX Labs, marked by the launch of numerous successful products that have shaped the brand's identity.
Before my tenure at PAX Labs, I helmed Freeform, my own design consultancy. Here, I honed my skills in designing and developing a wide array of consumer products, collaborating with prestigious clients like Wilson Sporting Goods, Snap-on Tools, and Peavey Electronics. These experiences not only enriched my expertise but also fueled my commitment to design excellence.
My passion lies in crafting items that endure, both in quality and in their minimal impact on our environment. This philosophy extends beyond my professional life; it's a personal creed that influences every aspect of my work.
My work resonates with leaders and visionaries - CEOs of tech companies, innovation officers, managers, and nonprofit leaders seeking a creative mind to lead a product team or drive unique programs. My expertise lies in blending creativity with business acumen, a combination suited for those looking to forge new paths in the tech and non-profit sectors.
